Tesla welcomed the launch of Europe's first Gigafactory, which is located in the Grünheide neighborhood in Berlin's southern suburbs. Nine thousand people attended the celebration, invited DJs, and planned numerous activities for children and adults.

Elon Musk delivered a welcoming speech in German at the plant's inauguration and announced that a train station would be built on the company's property in the future.

There are limits in Berlin on large-scale staging gatherings; no more than 5,000 people can attend. However, Elon Musk and officials from the American corporation were able to reach an agreement with the authorities to increase the permitted number of participants nearly.

According to social media photographs and videos, and comments from event attendees, Tesla was able to assemble around 9,000 individuals, the majority of whom were inhabitants of the Grünheide region. The guests were taken on a tour of the facility, where the robots used to manufacture electric vehicles were programmed to do synchronized dances and draw drawings.

A Ferris wheel was constructed on the property, and a stage, where DJs performed till the crack of dawn, and enormous robots made of balloons warmed up the audience.

Elon Musk stated that the Tesla Gigafactory will employ around 12 thousand people and that a manufacturing volume of 500 thousand electric automobiles per year is envisaged. Within the next six weeks, the first automobiles will roll off the production line at the new Tesla Gigafactory.
