The Spanish manufacturer Silence has been entering the electric car market. Available with or without a license, the Silence S04 electric car is announced from 7,500 euros.
Taking the form of a small 100% electric two-seater city car, the Silence S04 partly takes the DNA of the brand's electric scooters and comes in two configurations. Without a license, the first is similar to the Citroen AMI; it is equipped with a single battery and is limited to 45 km / h maximum speed. More versatile, the second is classified in the category of heavy quadricycles. Powered by a 14 kW motor and equipped with two batteries, it allows up to 90 km / h maximum speed.
Offering a generous 310-liter trunk, the Silence S04 is rather generous in equipment. It is thus possible to include air conditioning and other comfort elements such as the touch screen audio system, Bluetooth, electric windows, central locking, and mobile phone holder. ABS will also be optional equipment.
In terms of range, Silence announces a range of up to 149 km in Eco mode (120 km on average) with the two packs according to the WMTC standard, a cycle-specific to the two-wheeler and quadricycle sector.
While the S04's batteries can be recharged directly in the car, they can also be transported to be charged at home or in the office. The system uses the same principle as that already offered on Silence's electric scooters. The two batteries can be easily removed, a trolley system facilitating their transport to the nearest outlet. In Barcelona, the manufacturer will also experiment with battery exchange stations.
The Silence S04 small electric car will be available in the first quarter of 2022. Without going into the details of the configurations, the manufacturer announces a call price of 7,500 euros for the basic version.
