Skoda's particular commitment to electric cars is beginning to bear its first fruits in the form of sales and reservations. We are talking about the Skoda Enyaq iV, which last quarter began its commercial career in Europe, of which the Czech firm recently gave the first data.

The Skoda Enyaq iV is a large electric SUV connected to the modular platform for electric cars developed by the Volkswagen Group, called MEB. It has dimensions of 4,649 meters long, 1,879 wide and 1,616 high, and when it was presented in September the firm announced that it would be available with a price starting around 39,000 euros.

Based on the approach and price of the Skoda Enyaq iV, the Czech firm envisaged a start of production based on a commercial premiere that should gradually increase until the Mladá Boleslav factory reaches full production.

However, this pace has not yet been reached by Skoda, who has been somewhat overwhelmed by the initial demand for the Skoda Enyaq iV in Europe. As they have announced during the presentation of results for the first quarter, the firm has only materialized during these first months a little more than 500 deliveries in Europe.

Therefore, as Martin Jahn, Head of Sales and Marketing for Skoda in Europe, said at the company's annual press conference on March 24, there are already more than 20,000 orders in total.

Another market where the premiere of the Enyaq has been relatively successful is in its native country, the Czech Republic, where interest in the first electric car designed as such by Skoda from scratch has led him to register more than 2,000 reservations. The Skoda divisions in Ireland and Denmark have also released the booking figure for the Skoda Enyaq in their respective markets, with 280 and 1,400 pre-orders respectively.

Thus, with this premise, the commercial path of the Skoda Enyaq iV electric SUV looks promising. A new version of the coupé body that has been announced by the Volkswagen Group should contribute to this success and will be presented before the end of the year.

Btw, the Skoda Enyaq Sportline iV 80x with 265 hp is the most powerful Skoda car ever built.
