The board of Eskilstuna Energi & Miljö has now given the green light to the plans to build a photovoltaic park at the Lilla Nyby landfill. The solar cell park will produce 2 MW of electricity per year. It will cover approximately 11,000 square meters of the landfill.

During the autumn, EEM conducted a market survey where customers were asked questions about their interest in locally produced solar energy.

The goal of the new photovoltaic park is to produce renewable electricity within one year. The electricity produced will be sold to EEM's customers and used at the company's own facilities.
