Scientists from the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the Polytechnic University of Valencia have discovered a method for transforming substances by exposing them to microwave radiation. One of the main advantages of the new technology is that it softens the limitations on the conditions for producing hydrogen and does not require the use of electrodes in contact with the active substance. As a consequence, plants for the production of hydrogen in this way can be more varied in design, simpler and cheaper.
