Marble is softer than granite yet they're quite durable. And at the same time, they're highly porous. therefore a marble bottom gets stained by Vinegar or juices, acids, and occasionally indeed water stains. To add to this, if you don't seal them duly, the marble would soon get stained. And nothing looks terrible than a distorted marble.
